A Note From Your Director
Welcome to the Virginia District. The coordination of new repeaters continues to become increasingly difficult, particularly on 2 meters and 70 centimeters. We are fortunate to enjoy a high degree of cooperation from our neighbors to the North in T-MARC, which coordinates Northern Virginia, DC, Maryland, Delaware, and a small portion of West Virginia which includes five counties in the eastern panhandle. Other coordination districts surrounding our area fall under the blanket of SERA. These include North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, and West Virginia.
Please refer to the new map shown below for frequency coordination territory assignments. For the most part the State of Virginia is defined by county borders except where T-MARC is involved. The T-MARC border is a line west from the Atlantic Ocean along the 38th parallel to where it intersects route US 33 in Louisa County. The line then follows US 33 to West Virginia. For SERA, the T-MARC border counties include Caroline, Louisa, Greene, and Rockingham.
We are looking for additional repeater full members and associate members in order to help support the voluntary coordination program. If you are not a full or associate member, please join and receive the award-winning Repeater Journal, which is published quarterly.
Also, please note that we are always looking for volunteers. If you would be interested in helping in some capacity, please contact me at my email address listed here, or at my US mail address.
