Welcome to SERA (UCS) Universal Coordination System 2022

US Forestry Legislation and Ham Radio

It is SERA Policy not to engage in politics, but recently an event has discouraged many of the Repeater Owners that we serve.   Some say as many as 1400 Hams may be affected by this legislation that includes a minimum of $1400 per year and per site.  Several repeater owners have told SERA that they have contacted the Forestry Service to check on an Exemption but are told there are no exemptions at this time.  The ARRL has promised to go head on against this $1400 annual charge, but we encourage hams to also contact their Representatives and the Forestry Service to voice their opinions.  Even if you do not have a repeater at a Forestry Service location, this is a chance to help your brother hams.
