 Repeater Journal Regular Columns:

Randy McKenzie, KK4EJ
"Get The Hammer" - Let's get technical with Randy McKenzie, KK4EJ.  Randy not only provides some good simple technical articles, but on occasion, he shares his own personal situations concerning working on transmitters, towers, and the work done by a RF field technician. It's great stuff!
David Bower, K4PZT
"Nostalgic Wavelengths" by David Bower, K4PZT.  If you love our history, you'll be delighted with David's articles. Whether it's a visit to Pearl Harbor and the radio rooms of the old ships, to the cockpits of World War II aircraft, or early amateur radio gear, David covers it for the Journal.
Rev. Glen Sage, W4GHS
"EmComm Reflections" by Glen Sage, W4GHS.  We welcome Glen as one of our new feature writers as he focuses on ARES/Emergency Communications in the Amateur Radio Service.  Since the events of 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina, served agencies have tightened standards for ham radio involvement as emergency communicators. read more in Glen's columns!
Mo Kittle, AD8T
"Tech Specs" by Mo Kittle, AD8T.  Mo is transitioning from West Virginia State Correspondent to one of our feature writers.  Check out Mo's articles coming to you from the mountains of Elkins, West Virginia.

Features and News Stories:

We always want news and feature articles.  If it might interest our readers, it interests us.  Contact the editor at  editor@sera.org.  Under normal circumstances, and unless specified elsewhere, deadlines for submissions are: December 10th for our February issue, March  10th for our May issue, June 10th for August issue, and September 10th for our November issue.

Submitting News Items:

Send news to the state correspondents as plain text e-mail.  Send news and feature articles to the editor as plain text or in rtf (rich text format).  Most word processors allow saving your formatted text in rtf, which preserves bold, italics, underlines, etc.

Photos Wanted!   We love printing pictures of hams doing things ... or just standing there, if that's all you can get them to do.  Digital pictures must be high-resolution (one mega-pixel or larger).  Send a copy of the image that came right out of your camera ... don't shrink it, expand it, crop it, or turn it blue (little web-size pictures look fine on your screen, but don't make it in a magazine).  Explain who's in the picture, and what they're doing, and tell us who the photographer was.  Prints should be scanned at 220 dpi minimum, and e-mailed as a high-quality jpeg (file size up to 4 MB OK).  Prints can also be mailed to the editor.  If you want the print back, make that clear in your note.
